WP&C Wins $25M Contract to Continue Support of U.S. Army Transformation

WP&C Wins $25M U.S. Army Contract
Wilson Perumal & Company (WP&C) has been awarded its largest competitive contract to date—a $25 million, five-year IDIQ contract from the U.S. Army Materiel Command (AMC) to help transform the Army’s Organic Industrial Base (OIB). WP&C will help improve the material readiness generation and efficiency of depot and arsenal operations. This transformation will leverage the full breadth of WP&C’s strategy and operations expertise and build upon the firm’s extensive history supporting AMC.

“The OIB is a critical component in ensuring Army and Joint Force readiness,” said Andrei Perumal, WP&C Managing Partner. “As the Army modernizes, the OIB must follow suit to efficiently and reliably support the force’s evolving needs for materiel readiness. We are strong believers in the OIB’s potential and are excited to have the opportunity to contribute our firm’s unique capabilities to the OIB in this time of vital transformation.”

In a series of robust initiatives, WP&C will address issues impacting the readiness and efficiency of depot and arsenal operations, including ammunition requirements, synchronization, forecasting, ammunition production, and supply chain management. The efficiency improvements WP&C will support across the Army’s manufacturing arsenals and maintenance depots will have wide-ranging impacts—from munitions to tanks and helicopters to communication and electronics equipment.

With a workforce of over 70,000 soldiers and civilians, AMC leads and directs Army logistics, managing its global supply chain and synchronizing logistics and sustainment activities to ensure Army commanders have materiel readiness to conduct global military operations.

This contract represents the largest scope of work to be performed by WP&C for the Army in a relationship that dates back to 2011. Most recently, WP&C supported the Army’s ongoing effort to modernize its enterprise resource planning systems, focusing on many areas including technology complexity and strategy, and frameworks for business process design and business process re-engineering.

“Over the last 18 months, WP&C has successfully advised AMC’s leadership on the development of a coherent and practical technology strategy for the modernization of its enterprise business systems, which include some of the largest ERP systems in the world,” said Dean Hamilton, WP&C Partner and CTO. “I am pleased that the Army continues to recognize the unique mix of capabilities and competence our firm offers and am excited about this new opportunity for AMC to leverage those capabilities to transform the operations of its depots and arsenals.”

In an earlier Army project, WP&C helped Joint Munitions Command reduce annual operating expenses by over $35 million across five production facilities and achieve a 20% reduction in budgeted manpower requirements while maintaining the same throughput.

WP&C has proven highly effective at driving significant, lasting impact in both commercial and government organizations. Learn more about our clients and the results we produce.
