From the 2020 Global Markets Complexity Index: a Guide for Multinationals Navigating Expansion and Contraction, Developed in Association with the Wall Street Journal
Meet the 10 most and least complex countries out of the 100 analyzed in the 2020 Global Markets Complexity Index (GMCI), developed in association with the Wall Street Journal. Download the full GMCI report below for a deeper understanding of how to shape your global operations decisions.
The GMCI was created using a machine learning clustering algorithm to group together countries with similar complexity profiles. The interactive world map and 3D plot chart explore 100 countries across 8 unique groups based on their market, operational, and regulatory complexity.
The Wall Street Journaldescribes the GMCI as a "...new index [that] helps identify which countries have similar operating environments so investors—both corporate and financial—can make more-informed decisions on which countries they will be comfortable or capable of operating in.” Quartzframes the GMCI as a new tool to tackle complexity and CFO Magazine and CEOWorld Magazine also featured articles exploring the GMCI's impact.
